Being a CASA Champion
There are many ways to be a CASA champion. From social media to legislative advocacy, anyone can play a part in building momentum to serving all children experiencing foster care in Oregon.
Legislative Advocacy
Throughout every short or long legislative session, we are often busy working with our legislators and children's services partners to advance legislation and funding bills that improve the child welfare landscape. It takes an army to keep our movement front and center as legislators navigate hundreds of important issues affecting our state. We often share ways to get involved in our newsletters but a way to take a leading role in your community, is to reach out to your local representatives about prioritizing the CASA programs near you. Following your local legislators gives you direct access to when they are in your area for town hall engagements or when they host coffee-shop meetups with their constituents.
Board of Directors
Are you looking for a volunteer opportunity that fuels children services, but might not be available for being a direct-service advocate? Then a board member position might be for you. Being a board member allows you to bring your passions and expertise to projects and activities that impact quality and unity around the CASA mission. The Oregon CASA Network has annual openings for applications to serve our state-wide network. If you are more interested in serving your local community, reach out to your local CASA program about board service opportunities.
Business Partners
OCN and our local CASA programs are looking for state, regional, and local businesses, organizations, and corporations that are interested in promoting the CASA mission. There are many ways for businesses to help our work.
